Inside boat action shot. Catherine (the excellent skipper) er.. skippers, while Loz looks pensive. Is he pondering that eternal question, 'Why is cheese so varied?' or simply considering a log entry for that evening? We may never know. Jon swings the helm like a pro.
My crew relaxes in the front of our boat. Hang on a minute, they're not my crew. Are they? Well some of them are. I can't tell. Is it Thursday today? Is that my foot?
Some boats on a broad, yesterday. The big one at the front is Jade. I'm fairly sure it's Jade. I haven't a clue what the name of the boat following it is. Look, I've just had some very stressful exams, okay?
My crew pause in their boat preparations near Ludham Bridge. Left to right we have: Loz, Jon, Tom, and Catherine. Hi guys.
"I'll just stand up here while you guys sail the boat, okay?" Dan leaves Neil to steer while he strikes a pose on the bow.
It was actually quite sunny when I took this picture. Really. But it looks good anyway. In case you're wondering, that's the view over the stern of our half decker with the boom in the way, looking at Alex New's distinctively-adorned Wood boat.
Group photo of the mates. From left to right: Kirsten (before the dredlocks), David, Phil (without his hat?! Surely not), Clare, me (yuck), Tom, Daniel, and Graham, or "King Grunt" as I believe he was known at one time.
Occasionally the Broads are so still and bereft of wind that we have to resort to towing in order to reach tonight's mooring site. So here we are being towed. Oh, and Jon IS wearing his buoyancy aid, in case any of you are safety inspectors or anything like that. Mallards practice is for all crew and leaders to wear buoyancy aids at all times whenever on a boat or on the bank within several metres of the water.
End of week group camp shot. Again, I'm not going to name everyone but if you were there and you want address lists, if you mail the Quanternet with your details we may be able to help you.
It's the end of the week so it's time to pack away the masses of stuff everyone brought with them, including all our tents provided for the week. Incidentally this was a spur-of-the-moment, use-up-the-film sort of picture, I didn't really notice the three people bending over displaying their bottoms. An utterly worthless prize will be given to the first person to mail us identifying them.
